Car Tuning

This 51-year-old Bronco is every bit as good as the new one

Can a restored Ford Bronco that came out in late 1960s cost more than a new one? Absolutely – as long as it is a restomod.

Responsible for the build is Icon 4×4, a U.S.-based tuner with considerable experience in such projects. The team gave the classical car a fully restored body and frame with an elegant grey paintjob, Dana 44 and 60 axles, off-road suspension, Brembo and Wilwood-based brake components, and lockable differentials. New wheels come sized 18 inches across and wear BFGoodrich rubber.

The interior is in top-notch condition and boasts unique dashboard graphics, a center console with a Pioneer multimedia, sat-nav, and Apple CarPlay support, among other modern niceties.

Powering the restomod is a Coyote V8 rated at 426 PS (420 hp / 313 kW) and 545 Nm (402 lb-ft) of torque. The asking price is U.S. $190,000.
