Drag Race: Dodge Viper vs. Ferrari F40 vs. Acura NSX

Petersen Automotive Museum has posted a quarter-mile showdown between three supercars from the 1990s – first a Dodge Viper races against a Ferrari F40, then the duo is joined by an Acura NSX.

The Viper shown in the video is one of the first examples produced and thus makes do with a relatively tame V10 rated at just 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW). It is the weakest of all Vipers, but still good enough for a 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) sprint in 4.2 seconds. The maximum acceleration is capped at 265 km/h (165 mph).

In turn, the Ferrari F40 uses a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V8 to deliver 477 PS (470 hp / 351 kW) in the North American spec. It also concludes the sprint in 4.2 seconds.
