Trade Wind, Airstream’s latest trailer home, comes equipped with the biggest power cell array in the history of the company and is already available to pre-order starting from U.S. $129,400.
By default, the manufacturer equips the trailer with three lithium-ion battery packs summing up to 810 Ampere-hours of capacity. A 600W solar array on the roof helps replenish some of the electricity. Airstream promises ‘peerless’ autonomy, but does not quote any specific figures.
The trailer itself runs on 29-inch all-terrain tires and boasts a suspension lift that makes it viable in off-road areas. As for the interior layout, it is fixed and incorporates a standalone shower room, a kitchen, a bedroom and a living room. The living space is enough for five people, Airstream says.
