Mariani helps Aston Martin DBS Superleggera muscle up a bit more

The exclusive Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante has gotten into the hands of Mariani Car Styling. Aside from a stylistic makeover, the German tuning company has given it a noticeable power boost.

In its stock form, the temperamental Brit commands 725 PS (715 hp / 533 kW) and 900 Nm (662 lb-ft) of torque. Once tuned, the output has gone up to 780 PS (769 hp / 574 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. To ensure that steering remains manageable at higher accelerations, the engineering team has lowered the suspension by 25 mm (1 inch) and improved the car’s roadholding ability. The wheels have been spaced farther apart, too, so they are now flush with the outer rims of the fenders, like on some racecars.

Speaking of the wheels, these aren’t stock DBS Superleggera rims, but a custom forged wheel set that weighs whopping 14 kilos (30 pounds) less than stock while being fairly large (21x11.5 inches all around).

A custom active-valve exhaust system rounded off the modifications. The entire tuning program is properly certified and street-legal in Europe, Mariani says.
