The BMW 135i coupe is widely known to be quite a sports car in its stock guise, so what is it capable of if you tune it to its absolute best? GP Infinitas GmbH just found it out.
The result of the tuning was truly something special. The standard three-liter, twin-turbo I6 engine went from 306 hp (228 kW) straight to 750 hp (559 kW), of nearly 2.5 times the initial power. This essentially put it on par with the Lamborghini Aventador – and not just on paper, as the live tests clearly demonstrated.
In fact, the BMW 1 Series needed mere 5.7 seconds to get from 100 to 200 km/h (62-124 mph), and it ultimately hit 320 km/h (199 mph). GP Infinitas emphasized that the steering has remained fairly responsive throughout the entire duration of the test drive. Now that’s what we call performance tuning done right!
