BYD is celebrating its 20th birthday this year with a return to the market segment it started in – compact cars.
The BYD Seagull is an A+ class electric vehicle that’s only 3,780 mm (147.66 in) long with 2.5 meters (97.66 in) between the axles. LED lighting and 16-inch wheels are included under standard options.
The interior looks similar to other BYD cars, but trimmed down as much as possible. The driver gets to stare at a tiny 5-inch digital dash screen, while the infotainment system has a decent 12.8-inch display. Cruise control and air conditioning are available, too.
Driving the front wheels is an electric motor rated at 75 PS (74 hp / 55 kW). The battery size remains unknown. BYD will tell us more at the upcoming Auto Shanghai show where the car should make a live debut.
