Chevrolet Corvette C8 hits the showrooms en masse

The next-gen Corvette Mk8 is already being distributed among authorized dealerships throughout the entire world. Despite the delayed production start in early August, first cars have hit the roads, as evidenced by numerous YouTube videos.

Footage posted from sales sites – such as this one – indicates that sellers stock up on the new ‘Vette quite generously, expecting high demand. The cars are most often seen in the company of others, and almost never alone.

The example depicted here is quite special thanks to its $7,500 USD hydraulic top that retracts and extends courtesy of six electric motors and takes up no trunk space when folded.

The C8 Corvette ships with a 6.2-liter V8 mill good for 495 hp (369 kW).
