ExoMod has listed a rather extravagant and eye-catching replica of the 1969 Dodge Daytona on Barrett-Jackson’s. The company is known for its numerous “retromods”, but this one is a bit on the wacky side if you ask us.
The base vehicle here is a 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The bodywork is all-new and handmade, explaining why the car took around 3,500 workhours to create. The tuner boasts that it has zero OEM metal remaining on its body, and it’s impressive for sure.
Power is still provided by the Challenger’s stock 6.2-liter V8 supercharged to deliver around 810 PS (797 hp / 594 kW). The suspension and the interior also appear untouched, but the listing does mention exhaust system mods and a new set of wheels complete with tires.
From the historical accuracy standpoint, this Daytona lookalike won’t be fooling anyone. The nose in particular looks blunter than the original, and more sharply crooked at that. The rear is admittedly better executed, and the wing looks on point.
No price estimates have been published. Two years ago, the retromod won a prestigious award at Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, scoring 998 points out of 1000 in its category.
