Hennessey making a patriotic truck fleet for the U.S. turning 250

More often than not, Texas-based tuning company Hennessey Performance limits itself to working with popular trucks like the Ford F-150. To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, however, the company will be rolling up a whole series of custom F-250 models called the Velociraptor 1200.

As you may have guessed by now, only 250 units will be made. Each will come equipped with a 6.7-liter V8 turbo diesel engine rated at 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) and 1,627 Nm (1,200 lb-ft) of torque. We suppose torque was the bigger number out of the two, so the company decided to put it in the name of the build.

More importantly, though, these are the numbers that the F-250 outputs straight from the factory, so no upgrades were made in the powertrain department this time around. Nearly everything else has been subtly tweaked. The suspension gained 129 mm (5 inches) of extra ground clearance thanks to Fox coilovers and BDS components, power side steps were added, and stainless-steel bumpers replaced their OEM counterparts.

Hennessey also installed a carbon-fiber aero kit on the F-250 and wrapped the exterior in black vinyl. It retrimmed the interior in red and black leather and Alcantara, adding its own emblems and anniversary edition badges to every surface exposed to the eye.

Customers in the United States can order this patriotic package starting from $54,500. The tuner claims it requires at least a Lariat spec or higher with AWD and the aforementioned V8 engine, so that adds another $80,000 before options.
