Ford Mustang Mach 1 hits the sound barrier in new 767 Edition

Clive Sutton has unveiled an original take on the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach 1, outfitting it with a high-end turbocharger, a body kit and other mods.

The project is called 767 Edition for a reason. The stock 5.0-liter V8 gets a massive turbo upgrade that lets it churn out 767 metric horsepower (756 hp / 564 kW).

The number is also a reference to the speed of sound. In order for a supersonic plane to break the sound barrier, it has to reach an acceleration known as Mach 1, which amounts to 767 miles per hour, or 1,234 km/h. Of course, this is all largely irrelevant to the landlocked Mustang Mach 1. We also do not have any info on how fast the tuned ride is, unfortunately.

Elsewhere, the Clive Sutton build offers tuned suspension, a modified subframe, and 19-inch forged wheels with Y-shaped spokes. A two-part front spoiler lip and a track-ready rear wing adorn the body, and leather-wrapped Recaro bucket seats decorate the cabin.

In Great Britain where the pony is from, you can buy the tuned version for £96,000.
