AutoTopNL’s latest episode is dedicated to a Mustang Mach 1 that gets its capabilities tested on a German speedway.
The example in the video appears to be stock, but it still is a highly capable car pushing 487 PS (480 hp / 358 kW) to the wheels. Its five-liter naturally aspirated V8 supplies an impressive soundtrack, and the Tremec six-speed manual gearbox comes straight from the Shelby GT350.
On the autobahn, the Mach 1 quickly gains speed and soon passes its official peak acceleration of 267 km/h (166 mph), reaching 278 km/h (172.7 mph). OEM specs often downplay the actual capabilities of the car, so this is not too surprising – but welcome, nonetheless.
