Tuners are bringing 25 Eleanor Mustangs to the U.S. market

Cinema Muscle Recreations has announced a project called Eleanor: Gone Again. A reference to both the movie Gone In 60 Seconds and the Shelby GT500 Eleanor muscle car that starred in it, it aims at releasing 25 such cars and offering them to movie fans starting from U.S. $500,000.

The Eleanor is considered one of the world’s most iconic and immediately recognizable car designs. The replica will be painstakingly close to the original, but will improve upon it in ways expected of modern cars, the company says.

For a bit of context, Cinema Muscle Recreations calls itself a successor-of-sorts to Cinema Vehicle Services (CVS for short), the body shop that built the Eleonor for the year 2000 remake of the crime drama starring Nicolas Cage. Ray Claridge, the founder of CVS, is listed under the executives of the new company. CMR claims its 2000 Eleonor replica is going to be the only accurate one in existence.

Customers will be able to choose from a number of modern high-end muscle car powertrains for their example. There are multiple V8 options on the list, including the 5.0-liter Ford engine rated at 487 PS (480 hp / 358 kW)m, a 7.0-liter Roush mill churning out 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW), and a custom-built supercharged engine by Aluminator that the tuner says is capable of 875 PS (863 hp / 644 kW). Five-speed manual will be the standard transmission, but those who would like something different will be offered a six-speed manual and a Ford 10-speed automatic.

Every interior will be trimmed to a high standard with climate control, power windows and a Bluetooth-enabled multimedia system already installed. Options like a roll cage or a keyless entry system will be offered for a premium. You can already ask Cinema Muscle Recreations for a reservation.
