Honda Civic sedan ditches manual

Honda dealt yet another blow to stick shift lovers when it announced that the 2021 Civic sedan will ship exclusively with a continuously variable transmission, leaving the old six-speed manual design on the sideline.

The recently published detailed specs reveal that the next model year will see the Civic in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring versions – but none out of the five will ship with anything other than CVT.

Those who swear by stick driving will therefore have to make do with the hatchback version of the Civic. Then again, the latter will probably follow in the tracks of its four-door counterpart when it changes generations in 2022.
