Honda announced a Civic Si-based racecar several months ago, and it has now arrived with pricing details and specifications. Called the Honda HPD Civic Si FE1, it is set to ship in the United States in Q4 2022 priced from $55,000.
Compared side-by-side with its road-going counterpart, the FE1 lacks noise insulation, much of the interior trim, the sunroof and many other comfort-oriented excesses. It still retains its standard 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and buyers get to choose from multiple boost levels.
Elsewhere, the HPD Civic Si FE1 boasts heavy-duty Wilwood calipers with Pagid RST3 brake pads, a thoroughly upgraded suspension based on Bilstein shocks, an FIA-compliant safety cage, a Motec C127 telemetry display, an OMP Halo seat, and a quick-release steering wheel.
