Shortly after setting a Guinness World Record for the longest range in a hybrid crossover, the Hongqi HS6 is now available for ordering in three specs ranging from 178,800 to 228,800 Yuan. Read on for details and numbers.
All versions of the SUV rely on a 1.5-liter engine rated at 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and either one or more electric motors. The base FWD version gets a 228-PS (225-hp / 168-kW) motor and a 23.9-kWh battery pack. It can cover 148 kilometers (92 miles) without firing up the engine and up to 1,580 km (982 miles) in hybrid mode.
Opting for a bigger 40-kWh battery pack boosts the e-range to 248 km (154 miles) and the combined range to 1,650 km (1,025 miles) while leacing the rest of the powertrain parameters the same as above.
However, those in the market for an AWD crossover may get the flagship spec, which adds another 273 PS (269 hp / 201 kW) at the rear end. This version is the fastest with a top speed of 205 km/h (127 mph), but runs out of juice after 228 km (141 miles) in electric mode. Filling the gas tank extends the range to 1,460 km (907 miles).
On the physical side of things, the HS6 is 4,925 mm (192.4 inches) long and has 2,925 mm (114.3 inches) of wheelbase. As a luxury model, it is available exclusively with two seat rows, but the good news is that the trunk size goes all the way to 1,977 liters (69.82 cubic feet).
The feature list mentions an infotainment system based on a pair of 15.6-inch displays and running on Snapdragon 8295P hardware. There’s also a Dynausio sound system, a three-zone HVAC, heated/ventilated seats in both rows, an expansive panoramic roof and a 6-liter thermal box.
