Video: Blogger tours an abandoned German dealership

Forgotten Buildings on YouTube has posted a video from an abandoned dealership tour somewhere in Germany. It looks like the company had specialized in Kia and Lada cars before ditching the premises, leaving everything inside to rot and vandals.

According to the host who looked into the background of the business, it was founded by two brothers. One of them apparently handled the sales and the other one was more of a grease monkey at heart, so he did the maintenance. The dealership had originally specialized in Russian cars, but has been selling Kias since the early 2000s.

The showroom still houses a Kia Carnival in the dealership’s promotional wrap calling the minivan “brand-new”. A pair of Korean cars sit in the maintenance area as well, making us wonder why they were never picked up by their respective owners. A Kia Rio hoisted on a car lift looks surprisingly intact, but that’s more than can be said about the more recent Ceed standing next to it. That car is pretty much ruined. A Nissan Almera and a Volkswagen Passat are present, too.

Nothing in the dealership reminds about the partnership with Lada, except for the occasional branding and the odd promo material lying around. The spare parts warehouse is small but intact and has everything from small hardware to large body kit parts, like bumpers.

Interestingly, the host believes it was an ownership conflict between the brothers that led to the showroom shutting down. There is a calendar in one of the rooms suggesting that the quarrel happened around five years ago. This leaves open the question why no one attempted to salvage the vehicles and other valuables inside.
