Lixiang teases the cabin of its smallest EV

Lixiang, otherwise known as Li Auto, has posted a couple of interior shots of its upcoming i6 EV. The Chinese brand’s most compact electric car so far will debut on Friday, September 26, and is expected to go on sale priced from 250,000 CNY (U.S. $35,145).

The premium automaker claims that size won’t be an issue for the i6 because it has plenty of room from floor to ceiling. Looking at the specs, it is also not really a compact car at all at 4,950 mm (193.3 inches) long, 1,935 mm (75.6 in) wide and 1,655 mm (65.7 in) tall with 3 meters (117.2 in) of wheelbase. It barely fits into the “mid-size” category, so it’s only really small by Lixiang’s own standards.

The interior layout resembles that of the larger i8 model, but there are only two seat rows instead of three. Depending on the trim level, the i6 will ship with a panoramic glass roof, a ceiling-mounted 21.4-inch display, sunscreens, a fridge and audio speakers with metallic trim panels.

As is usually the case in China, customers will be able to choose between two powertrains. The RWD one will ship with a 340-PS (335-hp / 250-kW) motor, while the AWD one will additionally use a 204-PS (201-hp / 150-kW) motor on the front axle.

The only battery certified thus far has an OEM-rated capacity of 87.3 kWh. At the same time, the company specifies three different range ratings: 660, 710 and 720 km (410, 441 and 447 miles). It most likely means that another battery option will be disclosed closer to the launch.
