Mahindra wins against Jeep in court, will be selling its CJ-5 lookalike in USA

The North American office of Stellantis has lost its six-year-long litigation against Mahindra: The Eastern District Court of Michigan has ruled that the Indian automaker has a legal right to produce and sell its Roxor SUV in the USA despite it being a clone of the classic Jeep off-roader.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which is now a part of Stellantis, sued Mahindra in 2018 when that company introduced its Roxor model partially based on Jeep CJ-5 components. The corporation filed a complaint to the U.S. International Trade Commission, and it sided with FCA.

In response, Mahindra conducted a redesign of the SUV and requested a re-examination. The ITC revoked its ban as a result, and FCA started another litigation, which it has now lost.

For us, this means that the Mahindra Roxor can be officially sold and purchased in the United States starting from $20,599 before options.
