EMC churns out another military G-Class restomod worth $184k+

The Expedition Motor Company, which has lately specialized in rebuilding old Mercedes 250GD Wolf off-roaders, has rolled out its latest restomod. Aside from being fully compatible with the modern roads, the car actually offers a good deal of comfort for the driver – something that was decidedly not the case in the original.

The work began by stripping the entire off-roader down to the frame and sandblasting it from any marks of age. The exterior was then given a fresh spray of dark green paint and a fashionable cloth top.

Two sport seats wrapped in white leather were put into the cabin and two more were installed in the bed. The suspension, both axles and the brakes have all been overhauled based on modern components, so driving the restomod should actually feel comfortable for a change. The original Wolf model was a no-frills army vehicle, after all.

The torque-happy stock diesel mill was allowed to stay under the hood. EMC did hook it up to a new automatic transmission, though. All in all, the project has taken 2,100 work-hours to complete. The result is on sale right now for U.S. $184,400.
