Mitsubishi has revealed the facelift version of its Pajero Sport body-on-frame SUV. It ended up with minor improvements all around and came one step close to the new L200 pickup. In 2025, the model will be discontinued.
The new Pajero Sport has a nearly chrome-free radiator grille with a sparse honeycomb pattern. It also sports different bumper trims and rides on new alloy wheels. A blackout package for the exterior is available at a premium.
Inside, a three-spoke steering wheel and a redesigned digital dash are the most noticeable changes. The multimedia now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connections, and the rear seat occupants get their own flip-down display at the ceiling with USB and HDMI ports in it.
The four-cylinder turbo diesel has changed its model designation from 4N15 to 4N16. The latest Mitsubishi L200 ships with this engine in three boost variants, but the Pajero Sport will make do with just one, rated at 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and 430 Nm (321 lb-ft). It also gets a simpler six-speed automatic transmission instead of an eight-speed one. On the upside, the ground clearance goes up slightly from 217 to 222 mm (from 8.48 to 8.67 inches).
