Mitsuoka Ryugi says farewell with one last production batch

Mitsuoka – a Japanese niche automaker known for tuning Eastern cars into Western old-timer lookalikes – has announced the end of production of its Ryugi sedan. It has lingered around for almost 12 years (see video).

Before the model can permanently retire, however, it will enjoy a Final Edition run of 20 units. Each will enjoy a special body kit, some particularly flamboyant rear end styling, and extra badges.

As usual, the donor car is a Toyota Corolla Fielder (E160). The body kit is fabricated from affordable and practical composites, and the result is supposed to put us in mind of the 1960s-era Western automobiles.

The full price of the Ryugi FE is 3,505,000 JPY, which currently corresponds to 22,640 USD.
