Mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray gets its first-ever supercharger kit

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering claims it was the first to find a way to squeeze a full-fledged supercharger inside the engine bay of a Chevy Corvette E-Ray Hybrid. The car then proceeded to slam the dyno with nearly 750 horsepower.

In order to carry out this complex project, the tuning company enlisted the assistance of two others – Trifecta and Paragon Performance. The car wound up with a Magnuson TVS2650 blower tuned to Stage 1, forged pistons and custom valve springs/pushrods. Finding enough room for a cooling tank was tricky because of the transmission tunnel being already occupied by the hybrid’s power cells, but LPE ended up finding just the right place for it.

When all was finished, the car was mounted on a dyno and hit it with 744 PS (734 hp / 547 kW) along with 1,074 Nm (792 lb-ft) of torque. The company reckons it should be able to sprint 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) in two seconds flat with this kind of power – half of a second faster than the stock version.

LPE points out that the hybrid powertrain still operates as normal despite the numerous mods. Apparently, it was a specific request from the V.I.P. client who financed the build.
