Peugeot facelifts Expert and Traveller

The mid-size van and microbus lineup of Stellantis Group includes such brands as Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, Vauxhall, Fiat, and Toyota. Most are overdue some updates by now, and Peugeot is the first one to do so with its 2024 Expert and Traveler.

Both models are seven years old. The facelift versions look unchanged from the sides and the back, but the front now resembles the French brand’s light passenger cars more than ever before. Much of the impression is owing to the new headlights with claw-shaped DRL sections and the updated Peugeot logo. The front bumper is also new.

Things get a bit livelier inside, where there are a 10-inch digital dashboard and a 12.3-inch multimedia system screen now. A small joystick has replaced the transmission dial, and the steering wheel looks more up-to-date with a different spoke design.

The infotainment system software now supports over-the-air updates. A wireless phone charger pad has been added along with extra wired charging ports. The active assist package now includes a drowsiness warning system, traffic sign recognition, lane keeping, and advanced emergency braking that is now aware of pedestrians and cyclists.

Things stay stock in the drivetrain department. The all-electric Expert and Traveler still rely on a single e-motor at the front axle making 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). Buyers can settle for a base 50-kWh battery pack and get 224 km (139 miles) or opt for a bigger 75-kWh alternative and get 350 km (217 miles).

There are three 2.0-liter diesel engine modifications on offer as well with 120, 145 and 180 PS (118, 143 and 178 hp; 88, 107 and 132 kW, respectively). The transmission is six-speed manual, but you can pay a premium for an eight-speed automatic, like before.
