Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport gains an Evo version

The motorsport division of Porsche has modded its 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Coupe focused on club racing, track days and GT2 racing. The upgrade kit is called Evo and aims to perfect the aerodynamics of the car while also ensuring consistent long-range performance.

Compared to the regular GT2 RS Clubsport, which is based on the previous-gen 911 and debuted in the fall of 2018 (see video), the new model sports a seriously revised body kit. For instance, its front splitter produces more downforce at the front axle. Coupled with a taller Gurney flap installed on the rear wing rim, it is intended to improve the overall aerodynamic balance. The same goes for the modified side skirts.

Like some other Porsche racecars, the new Evo has a radiator grille in the middle of the front end. It also features reshaped air intakes in the bumper, the fenders and the front fascia, which acts as a frunk lid in road-legal models.

The fenders have ben flared to accommodate wider wheels. Tweaked shock absorbers should reduce tire wear, letting the car show more consistent results between laps. Finally, Porsche mentions an ‘improved safety level’ without going into any details.

Like before, the power comes from a 3.8-liter flat-six twin-turbo rated at 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW). This is identical to the now-discontinued street-legal GT2 RS. A PDK seven-speed transmission delivers the momentum to the rear end.
