Ram has posted a short teaser video announcing two new models coming on January 1, 2026. While extremely vague and uninformative, the vid nonetheless contains enough hints for us to figure out what those models are.
The more affordable offering will most likely come in the shape of a revived Ram Dakota pickup for North America. The company brought back the Dakota nameplate for South American this August, but that truck was based on the affordable Peugeot Landtrek chassis. In contrast, the U.S. market version is expected to ride on a superior platform and make use of more powerful engines. We are looking forward to seeing some super- and turbocharged medium-displacement options along with a large naturally aspirated V8 thrown in for those who prefer this type of powertrain.
As for the other one, the mottos “Desert winds don’t whisper…they roar.” and “Power will be reborn” are a dead giveaway that we are looking forward to a new Ram 1500. The latest update saw the company’s most iconic truck ditch its excellent V8 in favor of twin-turbo V6 power, a move that was criticized by many brand fans. It now looks like the company is ready and willing to correct its mistake by bringing back the lost cylinders.
