Rimac Nevera beats the Tesla Model S Plaid’s quarter-mile record

The recently debuted Rimac Nevera has effortlessly surpassed the result shown by the Tesla Model S Plaid on the quarter-mile strip, becoming the world’s fastest production car at that distance.

While the maxed-out Model S Plaid finished the run in 9.24 seconds, Rimac managed it in 8.58, breaking through the nine-second mark. Of course, comparing an ultra-expensive hypercar rated at 1,914 PS (1,888 hp / 1,408 kW) with a mundane-looking Tesla liftback capable of 1,020 PS (1,006 hp / 750 kW) isn’t exactly fair. However, both excel at what they do.

In other recent news, India-based Mean Metal Motors has announced a 1,000-horsepower all-electric hypercar named Azani.
