1 of 20 Saleen S1 Cup racecars goes on sale in the USA

This Saleen S1 Cup can be yours if you are willing to try and outbid the competition starting from the current $56,000. The exotic racing coupe was designed specifically for a single-make championship that later shut down, leaving the car with no awards to boast.

This specific example was made in the late 2010s in a production bath of two dozen or so units. After just one race, Saleen Automotive called off the championship, meaning that none of the S1 Cup models on sale these days have any victories in their records.

A 2.2-liter inline-four turbo under the hood produces 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and 624 Nm (460 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed sequential transmission sends the torque to the rear axle.

Elsewhere, the racer rocks adjustable shock absorbers and comes equipped with six-piston brake calipers at the front, as well as four-piston ones at the rear. It dons a Marlboro livery but lacks any sponsors’ decals.

A peek inside reveals a bucket seat, a multi-point safety harness, a roll cage, a fire extinguishing system and a multi-function steering wheel with a built-in display.
