Skoda Superb touches down in Europe in liftback and wagon flavors

Skoda has introduced the next generation of its Superb flagship, which will now be made in Slovakia instead of Czech Republic and go on sale in liftback and estate body styles.

Both versions are 40 mm (1.6 inches) longer despite the same wheelbase and have slightly more interior space thanks to layout optimizations. The head unit can be either 10 or 13 inches large, but the digital dashboard is caped at 10 inches. A heads-up display is available for the first time on record. You also automatically get a wireless charging pad and a trio of customizable Smart Dials with 32mm (1.25-inch) displays on top. You can customize these dials however you want, assign custom functions to them and always know which one fulfils which purpose right now thanks to the mini-displays.

Other than that, the new Superb stays true to the company’s Modern Solid design language but wears an all-new bodywork. It also boasts improved LED Matrix headlamps and a selection of wheels ranging from 16 to 19 inches in diameter.

For the powertrain, you can choose from assorted ICE options (petrol and diesel) and a few different kinds of hybrids. Depending on your chosen spec, the power will vary from 150 to 265 PS (148–261 hp; 110–195 kW). The top PHEV option gives you 100 km (62 mph) of all-electric range.
