Raccoons chomp on a Cybertruck leading to costly repairs

Chances are you’ve already heard this one, but a Tesla Cybertruck owner in Minnesota, USA had his electric pickup gnawed through by hungry raccoons.

According to the owner, he went to a picnic with his family last week and just left the truck parked outdoors for the night. Upon waking up, he found paw marks all around the bed cover. The cover was also visibly damaged by numerous claw and bite marks. The alleged raccoon (or multiple raccoons – they didn’t show up for an explanation) failed to make a dent large enough to get to the food left in the bed, but the car now needs some pricey repairs. It doesn’t help that many spare parts continue to be on backorder.

As is often the case with news surrounding Tesla’s goofiest vehicle to date, the commenters online have made all sorts of witty jokes about the incident. Our favorite is the insinuation that other trucks don’t get attacked by raccoons as much because they don’t look like garbage containers on wheels. Others have reasonably pointed out that a pickup that’s supposed to be bulletproof and watertight could certainly use a more robust bed cover.
