This Tesla roof tent didn’t sell, so it sprouted wheels

A while ago, UK-based tuner Wheelhome introduced the world to a nice-looking, drop-shaped roof tent for the Tesla Model 3 sedan. It was warmly received on the social media but hasn’t sold particularly well, so the company decided to turn it into a tiny camper.

The resulting two-wheel trailer weighs just 340 kilos (around 750 pounds), so you can tow it with most vehicles down to urban hatchbacks. It is also fairly compact at 3.8 meters (150 inches) long and features an aerodynamic shape that shouldn’t burn too much extra fuel or electricity.

Found inside are a kitchen sink, a 10-liter fresh water tank, folding shelves, a bed that becomes a sofa and a portable WC. Owners can also ask for a 200W solar panel to be put on the top, but charging the on-board battery works best with a conventional power source.

Prices start from a cool £26,225, which converts into U.S. $34,600 at the time of writing. Larger batteries and other options cost extra.
