A collection of cars confiscated from drug dealer Cory Taylor a few years ago just went under the hammer in Massachusetts, USA. It included 13 Mk4 Toyota Supras coming in various colors, drivetrains and mileages. One fetched $265,000 USD before taxes and fees, setting a new nationwide record.
The Quicksilver-colored coupe had around 37,000 km (22,990 miles) to show on the odometer for being born in 1998. It was still in good technical condition with a three-liter turbo engine and a six-speed manual transmission.
The grapevine has it that a resident of California purchased the car. They now have to pay the 15% auction fee and all the applicable taxes.
Another Toyota Supra from the collection to have smashed through the $200,000 barrier was a white 1993MY coupe with the same drivetrain, but less mileage. It had around 13,100 km (8,140 miles) under its belt and sold for $237,500.
A total of 29 cars from Taylor’s collection went to the auction, including an Acura Integra, seven BMW M3, a BMW M4, and two of each Honda S2000, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Nissan 350Z. The proceeds piled up to $1.8 million.
