Video: Toyota Supra Mk4 vs. BMW M3 Competition

Carwow has pitted the iconic 1997 Toyota A80 Supra packing an engine upgrade against a stock BMW M3 Competition. The Bavarian saloon is at a nearly-200-hp disadvantage here, but don’t think it’s bound to lose.

Powering the M3 is a three-liter turbocharged six-pot engine good for 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) straight from the factory. Its curb weight amounts to 1,730 kilos (3,814 pounds).

In turn, the Supra has the same displacement and cylinder count, but benefits from extensive modifications bringing its output to 710 PS (700 hp / 522 kW) and 709 Nm (523 lb-ft) of torque. Tipping the scales at 1,490 kilos (3,285 pounds), it is not only more powerful but also lighter than its opponent.
