As we all know, the current – fifth – generation of the Toyota Supra shares the chassis and much of its technology with the BMW Z4 Roadster. Among other things, it uses the same engine. A car enthusiast known online as MySupraAdventures wondered if he could somehow fashion a Z4 coupe out of his Supra.
Thus began his ambitious project to “Germanify” the Japanese sports coupe. He started by designing a whole new front end for it complete with wheel arches, hood and headlights. The radiator grille and the air intake shrouds have yet to be installed, and there’s just a month remaining until the SEMA tuning show in Las Vegas – MySupraAdventures plans to attend it with a finished build.
One may fall under the impression that remodeling a BMW-based Toyota back into a BMW is easy – you just replace the panels – but the reality begs to differ. For all their technical similarities, the Z4 and the A90 Supra don’t share any of the bodywork and even have all-different mounting points. Styling one after the other necessitates cutting, welding, bolting and fabricating custom parts.
The SEMA show kicks off in Las Vegas on November 4, 2025.
