The new Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella looks similar to its European namesake, but comes with a different set of trim options.
Both Urban Cruiser models run on the rebadged Suzuki e Vitara platform. Both rely on a 144-PS (142-hp / 106-kW) electric motor to drive the front wheels and get up to 440 kilometers (273 miles) of range per charge. Higher trim levels benefit from a 174-PS (172-hp / 128-kW) motor and a bigger battery pack rated at 543 km (337 miles). Unlike the EU-only Urban Cruiser, though, the Ebella for India does not have a dual-motor variant with 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW).
On the exterior side of things, the newcomer looks like any other affordable Toyota for Asia and measures 4,285 mm (167.4 inches) long with 2,700 mm (105.5 inches) between the axles. It has the same interior layout but new material and color options to choose from. Standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels, seven airbags, a two-display arrangement on the dashboard and LED lighting all around. Paying extra unlocks ventilated front seats, surround view cameras, lanekeeping and adaptive cruise control.
Preorders are already running, but pricing remains to be announced.
