Video: 1,000-HP, stick-shift Cadillac CT5 demonstrates some action

Hennessey Performance has posted a video showcasing the capabilities of its latest H1000 sedan based on the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Whether in form, acceleration or engine soundtrack, this Caddy looks and feels like a natural-born supercar.

As you probably know, the CT5-V Blackwing is the boldest and baddest CT5 money can get, pumping out 677 PS (668 hp / 498 kW) and 990 Nm (730 lb-ft) of torque from its 6.2-liter supercharged V8. The transmission can be six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic.

The renowned Texas-based tuning company slaps on new headers, valves, manifolds and replaces the supercharger with an even stronger one. Topping these with a custom ECU, the engineers extract 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 746 kW) and 1,310 Nm (966 lb-ft) of torque out of the same displacement.

According to Hennessey, the H1000 sprints 0-96.6 km/h (0-60 mph) a whole second faster than the stock car does. Since the Blackwing has an official sprint time of 3.6 seconds, this means 2.6 – quite a crazy accomplishment for a Cadillac. It is also said to be capable of running a 10.1-second quarter-mile, but the top speed stays capped at its usual 322 km/h (200 mph).
