VW Beetle racer from Gran Turismo Sport takes on a tangible form

Prior Design and JP Performance have nearly finished implementing the virtual Volkswagen Beetle GT racer from Gran Turismo Sport in the real world.

A 5C Beetle was taken as the donor vehicle, landing with an extreme Prior Design widebody kit and huge 22-inch wheels. Aside from the fender flares, the package includes a front splitter, a front bumper with a large air intake, a hood, side sills, door sills and a rear diffuser composed of as many as 28 pieces.

For its part, JP Performance put a 2.5-liter turbo engine under the hood, installed a new DSG transmission, lowered the suspension and upgraded the exhaust system. Next on the to-do list are a body wrap and some finishing touches.
