Volkswagen is getting ready to unveil an updated version of the Golf GTI Clubsport, the most powerful FWD hot hatch in the Golf family.
As you may remember, the pre-facelift 2.0 TSI spec could produce up to 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) at most. The new version is expected to get a major performance bump over it, because there’s already a “normal” GTI around with 265 PS (261 hp / 195 kW). Aside from a power boost, the new Clubsport will continue to benefit from adaptive suspension and an electronic diff lock.
No specifications have been confirmed so far, though. These official images show the new GTI Clubsport in a colorful wrap, but we will be able to see the car in its full glory at the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring next Friday, May 31.
