At the recent Electrify Expo on Long Island, New York, Volkswagen has demonstrated an all-electric ID. Buzz van loaded with options from a new package called Mini Camper.
The van at the show wore a two-tone paintjob and had a slew of picnic-friendly accessories installed. Most of them were provided by German camping products brand Ququq.
Specifically, the pack is called Ququq Bus Box 4 and includes a thick folding mattress for sleeping, bedsheets, a wind-protected gas stove, two 10-liter water tanks and cups. Those looking for a mini-fridge can get an optional 15-liter fridge, but the standard package has none.
The foam mattress is large enough to accommodate two adults and stretches from the front seats all the way to the end of the trunk area. Ququq says the Bus Box 4 arrives as a compact module and only takes one minute to install.
Rough Road Equipment, the authorized seller of Ququq branded equipment and accessories in the USA, said it would stock up on several Bus Box 4 units in early 2024. The pricing hasn’t been revealed, but the contents of the package could be worth around $4,500 in U.S. dollars.
