Meet Wuling E10, a $5k electric truck that can fit in the tightest spots

Chinese automaker Wuling has launched sales of a new battery-powered micro-truck called E10 on the domestic market. Originally estimated at 30,000 Yuan, it ended up a touch more expensive at 36,800 Yuan, but that’s still just 5,000 U.S. dollars.

The model has a boxy exterior with rectangular headlights and a matching front fascia finished in black. The wheels are only 12 inches large, and the cabin has only one seat installed in the middle. The dashboard is digital.

The whole ride is 3,305 mm (129.1 inches) long and 1,080 mm (42.2 inches) wide, but the modest dimensions make it perfectly fine for last-mile deliveries. To that end, the E10 has a cargo area 1.7 cubic meters (60 cubic feet) large. The max carrying capacity does not exceed 200 kilograms (440 pounds), though.

A single 27-PS (27-hp / 20-kW) electric motor supplies the power. The top speed is capped at 71 km/h (44 mph), and a full charge lasts 150 km (93 miles).
