The extreme electric Xiaomi SU7 Ultra racecar will drop its concept status and go into production next year, the company says.
According to Xiaomi brand founder and CEO Lei Jun as quoted by Car News China, customers will be able to buy the supercar as early as the first quarter of 2025. He added that some modifications would need to be made to the original design to keep pricing in check.
Specifically, the mass-market version of the SU7 Ultra will retain its chassis, three electric motors and battery, but will trade some of its carbon bodywork for metal. As a result, it will be slightly heavier than the concept version, which may affect acceleration. The buyers will be offered two main variants – track-only and street-legal.
