Xiaomi SU7 facelift spotted on the streets

Despite only launching its all-electric SU7 sedan last spring, Xiaomi is already eager to get it refreshed for the next model year, CarNewsChina reports posting some early spy photos. The prevailing guess is that the company wants to fine-tune its drivetrain parameters and add more comfort-focused trim features in order to stay competitive on the busy automotive market of China.

Unofficial sources claim that the updated SU7 packs a brand-new battery and 900V power internals that give it more charging speed and range. Specifically, we are told that the range will exceed 805 km (500 miles) by a large margin and that you will only have to charge for five minutes to get 200 kilometers (124 miles) of range back. Important hardware upgrades are expected in the ADAS and suspension departments as well, though Xiaomi has yet to confirm any of these.

Based on the images, the exterior of the sedan stays largely the same except for a mildly tweaked front fascia. The interior remains hidden from view, but the rumors make it sound like all the improvements could bump up the starting price by a fair amount.

CarNewsChina claims it requested a comment from Xiaomi, but the automaker declined it, saying it was “still too early”. The same reply came from authorized dealerships, who continue to say they are unaware of any facelift plans for the SU7.
