This Porsche 911 GT3 (997) has 1,200 HP, Koeniggseg Regera-like acceleration

For nearly two decades now, German tuner 9ff specializes in building some of the world’s craziest sports cars for acceleration racing. This 9ff Porsche GTurbo R might not have the highest specs, but its sprint times defy all common sense.

The stock flat-six engine remains under the hood, but gets a serious displacement upgrade along with dual Garrett GT3582 turbochargers. The driver can select from three available performance modes: 1 (around 600-700 hp), 2 (850 – 950 hp) and 3 (1,100 – 1,200 hp). The latter mode enables the Porsche to zap from nothing to 300 km/h (186 miles per hour) in mere 12.4 seconds and hit 394 km/h (245 mph) running in a straight line. Of all the production vehicles, the Koeniggseg Regera hypercar worth millions of euros comes to mind as the only example with similar acceleration dynamics. Heck, even the Bugatti Chiron is five seconds slower to 300 km/h!

Needless to say, the cabin is stripped clean of everything not strictly necessary, including the rear seat row, the AC and most other equipment. Carbon fiber and Kevlar parts are used instead of metallic ones wherever possible.

Max, the driver of the car, admits in the video that he “never experienced anything nearly as crazy” in his life – and we find it easy to believe.
