These are the TOP5 fastest Porsche cars

Luxury carmaker Porsche once again treats us to a series of short videos dedicated to its most outstanding and special creations. A week ago, the company released a video featuring five of its most expensive cars ever built. Today, we can have a look at the five fastest-going street-legal Porsche cars in existence.

The 911 Turbo S is at the bottom of the list with 330 km/h (205 mph). Still, recent spy shots showed us what looked like the next generation of the Turbo S line, and we can safely expect it to be faster than the current one.

Our beloved Carrera GT claims the fourth position. Equipped with a naturally-aspirated 5.2L V10, it accelerates to 334 km/h (208 mph) tops.

The bronze award goes to the legendary Porsche 959 S supercar series issued all the way back in the 1980s. A total of 29 cars rolled off the assembly lines, and one of them scored 339 km/h (210.6 mph) on the Nardo Circuit in Italy in 1988.

The silver medal goes to the 911 GT2 RS factory-rated at 340 km/h (211.3 mph). It should be mentioned that the RS is also the fastest-going car in the entire 911 family and the current Nürburgring champion in the street-legal category.

Predictably enough, Porsche’s newest flaghip, the 918 Spyder, occupies the very top of the pedestal. The car can rev up all the way to 345 km/h (214.4 mph).

Next week, the manufacturer plans to share some R&D secrets with us, so stay tuned!
