GMC Acadia facelift to arrive in fall 2019

GMC has finally taken the wraps off its facelifted seven-seat SUV Acadia. First cars will arrive on the market in the USA this fall, with prices yet to be announced.

The Acadia sports a refreshed exterior, complete with new headlights, C-shaped, LED-based daytime running lights, as well as redesigned bumpers, radiator grille, and brake lights.

The GMC Acadia family now also incorporates an off-road trim called the AT4, which offers an unpainted body kit, a black radiator grille, 17-inch rollers (20-inch ones available separately), and a 4WD system based on two electronically-controlled couplings. The luxury trim Denali, which combines chrome-coated body highlights with premium interior upholstery, is still available as well.

Interior novelty is scarce, though. Compared to its predecessor, the 2020 GMC Acadia features a button-based gear selector, rather than the traditional automatic gear stick. It also boasts an upgraded multimedia system, a better backup camera, a wireless phone charger, multiple USB ports, and a projection display.

The available engine palette now includes an all-new 2.0-liter turbo V4 with 234 hp (174) and on-demand cylinder deactivation, the old naturally aspirated unit with 195 hp (145 kW) and a V6 with 314 hp (234 kW). Regardless of your choice, the car will invariably ship with a nine-speed automatic transmission (the old six-speed manual one is no longer available).
