Daniel Orlando slams his VW Tiguan into the tarmac

The fad for stanced crossovers and SUVs just isn’t going anywhere, it seems. One would think buying a full-fledged sports car would do the trick just as well – if not better – but no, some of us just have to get an SUV and then strip it of its one defining feature, which is the off-road performance.

Then again, there is a smart, if costly, way to get the best of both worlds. That, of course, is called ‘air suspension’. The second-gen Volkswagen Tiguan depicted here belongs to Danial Orlando, from California, and it rides on an Airlift Performance kit. With a push of a button, you can bring the off-roader down on its metaphorical knees and then all the way up to a usable height. This trick is not something you would be able to pull off with the regular lowering springs, and coilovers, while nice, sure take a bit of elbow grease to adjust. Air suspension, now – that’s just the thing!

Aside from the above, the custom Tiguan flaunts what looks suspiciously like Bentley’s ultra-expensive rims. A closer look, however, reveals a cheap (and popular) Chinese fake that we won’t be crediting here.
