2020 Wey VV5 facelift arrives with GLA-like cabin and multimedia

Wey, a premium automobile brand owned by the Great Wall Group, has unveiled the 2020 facelift version of its VV5 crossover SUV. The car has received a slightly refreshed exterior and a cabin that strives to imitate the Mercedes-Benz GLA in every last detail. The tech stays old.

Unlike its predecessor featured on the video here, the newcomer boasts new headlight and taillight patterns, reshaped bumpers, and a new radiator grille. It also looks more like its senior sibling now, the VV7.

The interior has been pretty much copy-pasted from the Mercedes-Benz GLA, including the dashboard and the 12.3inch widescreen display, while the center tunnel is typical Porsche Macan.

The tech stays stock, which means a choice between a 1.5-liter turbo V4 rated at 169 hp (126 kW) and a 2.0-liter turbo good for 224 hp (167 kW). The transmission is seven-speed robotic in both versions, but 4WD is restricted to the most expensive version.

The post-facelift Wey VV5 should launch in November priced from 127,500 Chinese Yuan (approx. $18,000 USD).
