New Rolls-Royce Ghost shows up in the LWB version

Car spotters have repeatedly sighted the next-gen Rolls-Royce Ghost since January 2019, but its long-wheelbase variant only came out for a test drive today.

As usual, the company puts the extra 17 centimeters (6.6 inches) of length to use at the rear end, maximizing the legroom for the back seat occupants. The disguise wrap is still present, but does not cover everything, so certain conclusions can be made. Overall, we would say the luxury saloon should remain true to the iconic design of its predecessor launched ten years ago, while gaining a slightly more aggressive styling.

Technical details are scarce at the moment. Rolls-Royce says the new Ghost will switch from using the BMW 7 Series platform to the same architecture as the Phantom and the Cullinan. It might keep the V12 and the eight-speed automatic transmission, but this is not official. Other new possibilities include AWD, hybrid and all-electric versions.

The new Rolls-Royce Ghost will most likely celebrate its premiere later this year.
