Car Tuning

You could scare kids with this murdered-out 1956 Chevy Bel Air

The RMD Garage team restored this 64-year old Chevrolet Bel Air for the SEMA show, and we will admit it is the single evilest Bel Air we have ever seen.

Jet-black paint covers the entire body and kit, so the lights alone remain clear. The wheels wear a fashionable matte-black tint and belong to the custom Raceline Desperado Outlaw Series. Low-profile tires help the retro ride maintain a sporty stance, as does its four-link air-ride suspension. A Borla exhaust system lends the engine an appropriately powerful soundtrack.

Speaking of the engine, the Bel Air no longer holds onto its long-outdated mill, instead availing itself to the superb Chevrolet LS3 V8. The power rating isn’t available, but the red Bel Air the tuner showed us just a week ago had a similar setup and 450 hp (336 kW).

The cabin uses a combination of leather and wash-leather, and is every bit as dark as the exterior. Some photos misrepresent it as grey, but watch the video, and you will see it is actually black.
