Chip-tuned Alpine A110 rivals A110S in sheer engine power

The Mcchip-DKR engineer team has come up with a €900 chip tune that helps the regular Alpine A110 ascend to the level of performance associated with its senior model, the A110S.

In its stock guise, the 1.8-liter turbo-four mill churns out 252 hp (188 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. Once tuned, it goes up to 285 hp (213 kW) and 398 Nm (294 lb-ft). This enables the sports car to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds and max out at 262 km/h (163 mph), rather than the factory-limited 250 km/h (155 mph).

The larger A110S may have a slight edge with its 292 hp (218 kW), but it also weighs more and makes do with its younger cousin’s 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. All things considered, we’d expect the Alpine A110 by Mcchip-DKR to pull ahead of the S version on a racetrack.
