Homegrown rotary racecar bid to $11,750 so far

The Diasio D962R is a one-off track-focused build from 15 years ago, which you can buy on Road and Track for more than the current best offer of $11,750.

The vehicle wears a Porsche Miller High Life livery and sports a tubular frame with a GFRP body over it. It has been designed for circuit racing and it much smaller-sized than most of the competition.

Found under the hood is a Mazda 13B-REW rotary engine driven by a Garrett GT35R turbo kit. A six-speed sequential transmission sends the momentum to the rear axle, and a limited-slip differential enables a more precise application of torque.

The power rating isn’t specified, but Road and Track mentions that one of the buyers said it had 240 PS (237 hp / 176 kW) at the wheels. Given a weight of 716 kg (1,580 lbs) with the driver already inside, the homegrown racer should be fairly swift on the racetrack.

Elsewhere, the Diasio D962R has multi-piece forged wheels, six-piston calipers, adjustable suspension, racing seats, a safety cage, multi-point safety harnesses finished in red, a fire extinguishing system, and a driver cooling system.
